天然林生态组:以我国东北温带天然林为研究对象,以大型固定样地和控制试验为主要平台,以长期定位监测为主要手段,重点开展森林生物多样性维持机制及森林生态系统生产力的研究,为天然林保护和培育提供理论支持和基础信息支撑。

主要研究内容包括:森林生物多样性(物种、系统发育和功能多样性)格局及动态;森林生物多样性维持机制;森林生态系统生产力;温带森林生物多样性与生态系统功能等。
